Welcome to product3 - the newsletter bringing you insights from web3 product leads across the ecosystem.

Meet Eskender (@Esk3nder) - Chief Product Officer at elizaOS (@elizaOS). Eskender is a product leader who's been navigating web3's evolution since 2020. He has been leading products in Consensys and ENS and he is currently shaping the agentic future with elizaOS. I’ve had the pleasure of working with him at Consensys, and I’ve seen him firsthand turn innovative ideas into reality.

In less than 500 words, he shares:

  • How is product management different in web3

  • What’s currently shaping the future of web3

  • Advice for his younger self

How is product management different in web3 compared to web2 based on your experience?

For me, the biggest difference has been managing the relationship between protocols and their interfaces, which is quite different from the traditional backend-frontend dynamic in web2. In web3, protocols are immutable and public, which means decisions about their design and functionality have long-lasting implications. This requires much more upfront planning and consideration compared to traditional backend development where you can iterate and make changes more freely.

In your opinion, what are the most exciting or influential trends currently shaping the future of web3?

"AI is digital abundance, Crypto is digital scarcity"

The convergence of Crypto and AI is the most exciting imo—we're seeing AI agents handling trading strategies and decentralized AI models emerging. While at ENS, I saw how developers were using the hierarchy and composability of namespaces to develop agent economies and knew I had to go all-in.

What would you advise your younger self?

Think less, do more. It's okay to jump in without knowing everything - the space moves too fast. Also, don’t worry how you fit in. What's important is getting hands-on experience, trying things out, and building things. Just give it your best. Also, making some friends with other people in the space not only makes the journey more enjoyable but often leads to the best learning opportunities and collaborations.
